Esther Ling bridges the intimacy of solo storytelling with the depth of choral writing by crafting upbeat, meaningful songs that invite children choirs to sing with joy and confidence.

 

Her debut children's song, "Cheeky Wind", was the winning song of the 2025 Grande Prairie Boys Choir Songwriting Competition, and was premiered by the junior boys choir in Grande Prairie, AB.

As an associate composer with the Canadian Music Centre (CMC), she has since collaborated and published commissioned piece by the Peace Region Girls Choir and Grande Prairie Girls Choir, and continues to grow her portfolio in choral music.

Peace Region Girls Choir

In collaboration with the Peace Region Girls Choir, Esther Ling has released her 2nd children's song, "Rain, Won't You Please Stop!"; a fun and playful Spring-inspired, 2-part harmony song for children choirs to sing about being bored at home when it is raining all day.

This song was premiered by the Peace Region Girls Choir on 24 May 2025 at the choir's annual Spring concert, "Bringing The Sunshine" in Grande Prairie.​

A temporary step away from her contemporary pop catalogue, Esther Ling, releases her 4th single; an endearing children’s song, “Cheeky Wind”, which evokes nostalgia to all ages with its mischievous story. The released recording is Esther's own production, featuring the voices of her two children as well.

 

This song was the winning song of the 2025 Grande Prairie Boys Choir Songwriting Competition and was arranged by Esther to be premiered by the Grande Prairie Boys Choir's Spring concert, "Youthful Energy & Dreams" on 15 March 2025 in Grande Prairie, AB.​​​​

A soulful and intimate composer, she writes about all the things her heart whispers and want to sing.
